Reality is sometimes elusive but sometimes hard to escape. It was never expected that full membership of the Mathmatecum would be fully subscribed over a short period of time. Due to this fact it had to be a limited membership, so it was given a far-off date to close: 12/31/41. Membership increased by 6.3% during the 2023 calendar year which (while wonderful) wasn’t enough to make up for the overall decrease in the income for the year 2022 versus 2023. It was a naivety to think that members would help promulgate the Mathmatecum based on yearly returns. Because members were receiving small dollar amounts annually it was not impressive regardless of how strong the amounts were when compared to other recommended long-term investment scenarios.

For those people who saw and joined there was a persistent request to allow them to put a greater amount into the Mathmatecum. To remain faithful to the Mathmatecum’s design it was decided to allow for a Mathmatecum Directive. This is a contractual agreement between a member and the Mathmatecum to place multiple individuals into membership. This provides a distribution plan after the granting member’s demise. There are plans to offer another device for members, but details are at present not yet codified.  Currently 1/3 of Mathmatecum Directives are yielding 5%, another third 3.6%, and the final third 2.67%!

Proud to see there is a possible law being passed here in Hawaii to have government funded election races (just like or similar to those) in effect in Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, and New Mexico. Minimum wage of $7.25 still exists in twenty states while it has been calculated that to maintain a moderate two-bedroom house would take over $28/hr. Under Formicalism every person would be entitled to 300 square feet of living space and rent would not exceed one week’s minimum wage for a forty-hour week.

I have met a few celebrities during my life. The first I met and shook hands with was Primo Carnera. By the time I met him the one-time heavyweight champion was a wrestling star. I got to meet him at the Paterson Armory (NJ) on a card that also featured Gorgeous George and Chief Wahoo McDaniel.
