I am happy to report through the first half of 2023 the Mathmatecum monies are earning at the rate of 7.086%! Thankfully this is above the highest rated CD’s offered nationwide as of 7/1/23. I traveled last week to watch both my brother and nephew play in a tournament. What struck me was the crowds that were there compared to the last time I was there in July of 2021. Same tournament but scads more people. In the main were people looking to save money because it was a not a weekend. The last day we were there was Friday. The hotel rate Monday through Thursday was in the high 200s, however the rate jumped to $455 per night for the weekend! Thank God I was my nephew’s guest. Always loved that kid. The point I would like to make is that the gloom and doom that the talking heads are spouting on the TV and in the media is not what I saw on the ground.
I have lived in two major resorts since 1977 and what I know is that resort economies foretell what’s coming in the general economy! Due to what I saw, I believe that our economy will improve in the near term most likely. There should be no excuse not to save and invest going forward.
