One of the concepts of the Mathmatecum from its inception was to create not just long-term passive income but also generational wealth. Trying to sell the Mathmatecum to the public has not and is not an easy sell! Though the income returns are at present nothing short of fabulous, these types of returns could not have been anticipated. Because the membership fees are quite small of course initial income distributions are of course small on average and most people lose sight of the fact that the Mathmatecum has a potential life span of a hundred years plus. Quite frankly only after making a fourth yearly distribution do I feel the Mathmatecum has now silenced the skeptics who asked whether it would work as designed.
Once again, the financially fortunate among us have access to lawyers, accountants, and financial planners to facilitate creating generational wealth. This is done usually by use of trusts with very expensive costs connected to their implementation. The Mathmatecum has available for large families what is called a Matriarchal/Patriarchal plan that is no more costly to join than doing so on an individual basis. I will in the coming weeks flesh out how it works exactly.
Most times news about the economy when referring to markets usually refer to stock markets. This past week however, discussions have centered on bond markets. Inflation being the accepted demon! In all markets those in power are doing everything to keep a lid on inflation and for those yielding that power, raising the prime interest rate works best to suppress inflation. A consequence of raising that rate is that yields on bonds increase making older bonds less desirable. Banks who do not move quickly enough find their collateral decreasing at a dangerous rate and jeopardizes their ability to satisfy their depositors requests for funds.
Remember to save weekly and place funds where insured by the Federal Government with a view towards long term growth.
BIO
In the summer of 1955 while at the family’s summer home walking out of the ocean I struck the sole of my foot on something I could not see under the water. When it happened, it did not hurt but as I walked up to the beach the wave coming back towards me was crimson. I looked at the underside of my foot and saw that I had suffered a very deep laceration. After stopping the bleeding, it was necessary to hop home to get a doctor’s care. Unfortunately, in so doing I kicked up so much sand that the wound became filled with sand. At the ER the person who did the suturing failed to flush out all the sand and I spent the next two weeks going daily to the doctor’s office so he could painstakingly remove the sand left behind. Six weeks to recover. I read two books a day- mostly historical novels. One story was a two-volume story by Thomas B. Costain which gave me the idea that the Mathmatecum is based upon.
